PRESIDENTS DAY CAN ONLY MEAN ONE THING - DRINKING

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: OY!
*
Something to brighten up your Valentines Day hangover --a loving serving of "ruby red" grapefruit margaritas!

Enjoy your day off!
**
  • 1.5 oz of tequila (I prefer silver)
  • 3 ice cubes (kept it "heart shaped")
  • 1 oz of orange liqueur
  • 3 oz grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz of Fresca, Sprite or 7 Up (I used Fresca)
Mix all together and drink responsibly.

W-OW! WHAT A DRINK!

In our long-winded search for our wedding location, my parents, fiance and I decided to test-drive dinner at the new W Fort Lauderdale.

The interiors: fabulous. (*please note the gorgeous jellyfish tank picture I took)
The dinner: slightly salty.
The cocktails: impeccable.

And that's all that matters, right?

Here's my take on the drink I ordered-- A mojito-inspired Prosecco delight!

**

  • 5 mint leaves (plus a sprig for garnish)
  • 1/2 oz. of Malibu Coconut Rum
  • Prosecco (a crisp white sparkling wine grown in the Italian region of Veneto)

Muddle the mint leaves in the bottom of the glass. Add the Malibu rum and fill the remainder of the glass with the Prosecco.

Top with a sprig of mint and enjoy the good life!

(A CASE OF THE MONDAYS) GRAPEFRUIT MARGA-TINI

Yes, it's Monday.

The first (and often extremely long) day of the work week.

Here is a fabulous cocktail to enjoy at the end of your day.

You can have this shaken and strained into a martini glass OR on the rocks with some salt.

It just depends how fancy you want to feel.

**

  • 1/2 oz Orange Juice
  • 3 oz Tequila (of your choice)
  • 4 oz Ruby Grapefruit Juice
  • Juice of 1/2 a lime

Add all ingredients into a shaker with some ice.

Shake, strain, pour and enjoy, you sexy bitch!

LADIES NIGHT (AKA BOOZING WITH THE GALS)

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: OY!

Sometimes, you gotta say "EFF the guys. I need a Girls Night."

And this is the drink to celebrate just that.

Along with a fabulous meal of Tortilla Crusted Chicken-- you should wash it down with a Beer Margarita.

**
  • One Can of Frozen Limeade
  • 4 Light Beers
  • 2 Cups of Tequila (or more, to taste)

Mix all ingredients together in a pitcher. Throw in a few ice cubes. Enjoy on the rocks.

FRANKIE SAY RELAX (WITH SPA WATER)

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: (LESS THAN) OY!

Times are tough. There's no doubt about that.

Often the luxuries in life have to be cut out to make room for necessities. Like food, water, electricity... and shoes.

But if you have to cut out your "spa day" or have no money to go get that massage you really really need, I have a cheap alternative.

No, I don't mean going to that Thai place down the street. The following drink is the one thing that can always keep me close to a state of relaxation-- a refreshing and fancy take on H2O.
**
  • Water
  • 1 Lemon, sliced
  • 1 Lime, sliced
  • ½ Orange, sliced
  • ½ Cucumber, sliced
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Add all together, and stir only once.

How to Serve: In a pitcher, pour in water and enjoy. You can jazz up your glasses with a wedge of lemon or cucumber!
